Register of Deeds Jane C. Rich
Jane C. Rich is the 17th register to serve the county since its inception
in 1805. Jane has held the position Since 1991. She resides in Andover
where she serves as part-time pastor of the First Congregational
Church, U.C.C. She has a BPS degree from the College of Life Long
Learning, University System of New Hampshire and a Master of
Theological Studies degree from Bangor Theological Seminary. |

The Registry handles deeds, mortgages, discharges, liens, abstracts of divorce, abstracts
of probate, land installment contracts, powers of attorney, court
papers and anything affecting the ownership of land including
subdivision plans and standard boundary surveys.
Land records from Stoneham, Stow, Lovell, Fryeburg, Brownfield, Denmark, Porter and
Hiram are kept at the Western District Office located at
38 Portland
Street, Fryeburg, ME 04037.

access, assisting the public in research efforts
and serving with professionalism.
