At the Court of Oxford County Commissioners begun and held at Paris, within and for the County of Oxford on January 15th, 2008 there were present:

9:00 Pledge of Allegiance
Approval of Agenda
Caldwell Jackson was elected Chairman of the Board for 2008.
9:34 Round Table discussion with the Commissioners and the Department Heads. Department Heads shared their departmental concerns and ideas with each other. This exchange of information was beneficial to all in attendance.
10:00 Sheriff Gallant:
- patrol is making an effort to get better gas mileage
- Jan 2008 incident reports reduced from 2007
- there will be four rather than three zones in call sharing with the State Police with weekly changes. There will be one deputy for each zone with a sergeant as a “rover.” Gallant and James Miclon discussed renovating the space in the old garage next to the RCC to make an office for Ed Quinn. Fulton is to gather estimates.
11:43 Scott Parker -Update on EMA activities
12:00 Susan Jennings announced that the Bryant Pond Conservation School will merge with their 4H program and will become the University of Maine 4 H center.
12:15 Craig Zurhorst, Western Maine Transportation (WMT), met with the commissioners. He proposed that the Commissioners include funding in the county budget for this service rather than WMT having to bill each town individually. The County will send out a survey to see what the towns would prefer.
1:00 Annalee Rosenblatt discussed personnel policy changes. Rosenblatt also offered to put together a salary survey for all non bargaining employees and elected officials. She will compare data from Aroostook, Lincoln, Somerset. and Knox County.
1:30 Bill Haynes and the Commissioners discussed the County Web site and agreed that it should be updated. Haynes will submit a proposal to update and maintain the web site.
The Commissioners also took the following action:
- Enacted the UT budget for 08-09
- To increase Pat Faulkner’s hours from 33 to 35
-Commissioner Caldwell to serve on the WIA Board
-Commissioner Duguay to serve on the AVCOG Board
-Voted not to start plowing the county portion of the Concord Pond Road in Milton
All other bills and accounts were given and now on the first day of January 15th, 2008 the Commissioners adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
